The Boarding/Day School Process:
In my role as an advisor for the independent boarding and day school process, I prioritize building strong and trusting relationships with students and their families. By thoroughly getting to know each student's personality, academic strengths, and aspirations, I provide personalized guidance in recommending schools that align with their unique needs. Together we build a list of campuses to visit and I help students best prepare for their interviews. As we move into the application phase, I offer support in navigating the standardized testing landscape and assist students in crafting applications that authentically represent their strengths and aspirations. Once the decisions are released, I guide families through revisit days and provide support in making the final decisions, aiming for the most successful and fulfilling outcome for each student. I am a resource to talk through concerns, questions, and to be prepared to get the most out of the high school experience.
The College Process:
In my role as a college counselor, I prioritize building meaningful relationships with both students and their families. I serve as a high school advisor, guiding students through crucial decisions such as course selection, navigating standardized testing, and identifying enriching summer opportunities. I gain insight into each student's unique strengths and aspirations by establishing a strong rapport. As we transition into the college application process, I assist in crafting a thoughtfully curated list of campuses for visits and collaboratively create a list of colleges of which to apply, based on the interests of the applicant and other critical variables in the process. College applications and interviews are an opportunity for applicants to show all they have accomplished and how a particular college or university will aid the applicant in their educational journey. Telling this story through the application process is critical and I help students craft their narrative verbally and in writing through interview preparation and essay planning and editing. From inception to the final decision-making phase, I work closely with families, offering guidance and support to make informed choices about the best fit for each student's academic and personal goals.
Gap Year Planning:
Embarking on a gap year between high school and college can be a transformative experience, providing students with a valuable opportunity for personal growth, self-discovery, and diverse skill development. As a dedicated advisor, I can assist with facilitating a well-structured and purposeful gap year for students. By offering guidance on potential gap year activities such as travel, work, volunteer opportunities, or specialized programs, I assist in tailoring the experience to align with each student's interests and goals. Moreover, I provide strategic planning, ensuring that the gap year enhances the student's overall readiness for college by fostering independence, resilience, and a broader perspective. Through collaborative discussions and meticulous planning, I strive to make the gap year a meaningful and enriching journey that contributes to a student's long-term personal and academic success.

Hourly Option

Whether you require assistance with essay writing, interview preparation, or navigating the intricacies of the admissions process, hourly consultations provide targeted solutions tailored to your individual needs.
