“Good company in a journey makes the way seem shorter”

Meet Diana

My first job after college was with Carney Sandoe, an independent school teacher placement firm in Boston. It was my first experience in helping others find the right fit. I then went on to work in boarding schools around the country for nearly three decades. Most recently, I had the pleasure of spending the past 10 years as the Assistant Director of Admissions at The Taft School in Watertown, Connecticut. My greatest joys in my career have been helping adolescents and their families navigate the process of finding the right match for high school and college.

I have interviewed well over a 1,000 students in my work in admissions and love getting to know students and families from the beginning of the process through to the final decision making phase. I think of this work as a marathon, not a sprint and I truly believe that students ultimately find themselves in the educational environments meant for them.

One of my favorite aspects of working in boarding schools for almost 30 years was in my role as advisor, where I have advised well over 100 students. I always strive to provide the best support system that I can. I hold a masters degree in school counseling and I pride myself on being a strong listener as well as a fierce cheerleader for adolescents.

My husband, Jeremy, who is the Assistant Head of School at Taft, and I have three children who we have helped navigate the boarding school and college process. I can empathize as a parent that the journey of finding the best fit for your child can be an exciting time for self reflection but also a bit overwhelming and emotionally charged. I have found that having a third party in the mix can be extremely beneficial, especially given the ever changing landscape of the admissions process.

When not working with students, I enjoy being with my family as much as I can, traveling and going for walks with our very spoiled golden retriever, Mabel.

I look forward to forming a partnership with your family!

All the best,
Diana LaCasse
